Dinosaur Typing

Name your dinosaur, train the Home, Top, or Bottom keyboard row, and survive a one-minute prehistoric obstacle run in this free Dinosaur Typing game.

How to Play

Give your dinosaur a name, then choose one keyboard row to train: Home uses A S D F G H J K L, Top uses Q W E R T Y U I O P, and Bottom uses Z X C V B N M. Every run lasts exactly one minute. A letter from your selected row appears in the air with a soft five-second fade animation while the next obstacle approaches.

Pressing the matching key makes your dinosaur jump immediately—there is no stored or automatic jump. Watch the moving obstacle and choose the moment that lets the full jump arc carry you over it. Jump too early and the dinosaur may land before the obstacle arrives; jump too late and it may not be high enough. One point is awarded only after the obstacle passes safely behind the dinosaur.

There are no extra lives. Landing on or brushing across the top of an obstacle still counts as a successful jump, but running directly into a rock, log, or fossil ends the run immediately and plays a dinosaur fall animation before the results appear. Survive the full minute without a head-on collision and your dinosaur runs safely back to its nest; after that return animation, the game shows your score, WPM, and accuracy.

Each keyboard row you clear is remembered in this browser. After a successful Home Row run, the results recommend the uncompleted Top and Bottom rows, and the same rule applies to every other row. Clear all three rows to unlock a recommendation for the structured Typing Lessons course and continue with more advanced practice.
